After several successful events in Paris, seeing over 100,000 guests, Colors Festival is making its debut in the UK right here in Manchester. The exhibition is an art lover’s dream as you’ll be seeing the works of 30 established and emerging artists’ work across 800m² of completely renovated space. The colourful family friendly exhibition will take place from May 18 at Regent Retail Park in Salford, but we guarantee it won’t look the way you remember it. Tickets aren’t on sale just yet, official sales will be from 11am April 20, but if you can’t wait for this one and want to be sure to secure your tickets you can sign up to the waitlist here.
So what can you actually expect at Colors Festival?
Well as mentioned the works of 30 established and emerging artists will be on display, but in larger than life fashion. Expect artwork that covers entire walls in a venue that’s been completely repurposed for the exhibition. The artwork will include images of some iconic faces which we can’t reveal yet but that gorgeous Frida Kahlo mural you see above was done by Jo di Bona for the Paris edition and he’s got something new in store for Manchester. You’ll that have the XXL sized art plastered across the spaces creating a unique art experience you can interact with.
You’ll be treated to art across a range of mediums including photography, street art, paintings and more. As much as having the works of renowned names is great, what’s equally important is that Colors Festival is championing local talent in a big way. Rather than being pushed off to the side, there’s going to be a room dedicated entirely to Manchester artists. It’s going to be fun for the whole family and is sure to turn anyone who visits into at least a bit of an art lover.
