Paul Stanley: The Other Side opens this summer
The Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, OH will host an exhibit of the artwork of legendary Kiss frontman Paul Stanley between August 13th and October 8th. Stanley will make a special appearance for Paul Stanley: The Other Side on Saturday, August 12th for the exhibit’s opening reception.
The August 12th grand opening reception with Stanley is a very limited private event but reservations are available through the museum. The cost is $1,000 for two admitted guests who will also receive one commemorative artwork hand signed by Paul Stanley. This is a major fundraiser to assist the Butler with accessibility.
Sixteen one-of-a-kind pieces by the Stanley will be on display including new original acrylic paintings and mixed media originals.
Stanley designed and created the iconic Kiss emblem which remains universally recognized as one of the greatest logos of the 20th century. His artistic and visual input has been and continues to be seen in his designs of Kiss album covers, performance stages and apparel.
Stanley has always had a great passion for painting and channels it by creating portraits and abstracts that are emotionally charged compositions. His tremendous success with his artwork has led to an entirely new fan and media presence for the accomplished musician, actor and artist. He maximizes the direct and powerful impact of his paintings through scale, texture, color and simplicity of imagery.
Stanley’s works have been praised by well-known and distinguished art professionals and acquired by fans, celebrities and art collectors worldwide. His works have been coveted by collectors as evidenced by consecutive sell-out art shows with total sales in the tens of millions. Additionally, the artist has been commissioned to create numerous large works that are on exhibition globally.
“For me, it takes my breath away,” Stanley says. “This is a terrific museum. And the first that really championed American artists. So, it will be a group of some of my favorite and best pieces.”
